The Street Rides Fit Finder is an interactive quiz that matches you with the right electric scooter for your situation. It is not a generic recommendation. It uses your budget, weight, commute distance, terrain, portability needs, and province to rerank 76 scored scooters and show you the top 5 that fit your life.

HOW THE FIT FINDER WORKS

Questions: 6 (budget, rider weight, commute distance, terrain, portability, province)
Database: 76 electric scooters scored with the SR Score methodology
Ranking method: 55% personal fit + 45% SR Score = your custom ranking
Time: About 90 seconds. No email required. No data stored.

Why Generic "Best Scooter" Lists Fail Canadian Buyers

Most recommendation articles rank scooters the same way for everyone. That ignores three realities:

  1. Legal limits vary by province. A 2,000W scooter is thrilling but illegal in Ontario, BC, Quebec, and most other provinces. The Fit Finder filters for your province first.
  2. Range depends on you. A 100 kg rider on hills in October gets 40% less range than a 65 kg rider on flat streets in July. The Fit Finder adjusts real range for your weight.
  3. Priorities differ. A downtown commuter needs light weight and folding. A suburban rider needs long range. The Fit Finder weights these differently based on your answers.

How Fit Scores Are Calculated

The Fit Finder assigns points across six dimensions based on your answers:

Your Answer Points What Gets Rewarded
Budget 20 Scooters within your price range. Partial credit for near misses.
Province 20 Legal scooters get full points. "Check municipal" gets half.
Commute distance 25 Real range (adjusted for your weight) that covers your ride distance.
Terrain 15 Motor power, tire type, and suspension that match your terrain.
Portability 10 Weight under threshold + folding capability if you need it.
Rider weight 10 Range adjustment + motor adequacy for heavier riders.

The fit score (out of 100) is then combined with the scooter's SR Score:

Final Rank = (Fit Score x 55%) + (SR Score x 45%)

This means a scooter that perfectly matches your needs but has a mediocre SR Score can still outrank a higher-rated scooter that does not fit your situation. Your fit matters more than the general rating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data stored?

No. The quiz runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to a server. No cookies are set. Close the page and your answers disappear.

Why are some scooters marked "not legal"?

Canadian provinces set motor power and speed limits for electric scooters. A scooter that exceeds your province's limits cannot be legally ridden on public roads or bike paths. We still show these results because some buyers use scooters on private property.

Can I share my results?

Not yet. A shareable results link is planned for a future update.

How often is the scooter database updated?

We update prices and availability quarterly. New scooters are added as they become available in Canada. See our methodology page for the full update schedule.
